good morning isaiah

i've been so tired in the mornings, so when isaiah wakes at 5:45 i just go get him and bring him to bed with me. snuggles. he's so sweet. he lies next to me snuggled under the blanket, touching my face and cooing and giggling when i make stupid faces. this morning i turned on flight of the conchords for him to watch so i could get dressed and he LOVED it. totally absorbed in "i see you girls checkin out my sugar lumps" haha. i got him naked and he DIDN'T PEE! his nighttime diapers have less and less piddle every time. my mind will explode if he decides to potty train himself. *fingers crossed*

california

Adrian leaves with Tyler for Cali tomorrow morning. I'm so excited for him, he gets to go to the airport and ride a plane and he's gonna LOVE it!!!!! I'm kinda sad that I'm not with him for his first plane ride but it had to be one of us. I don't actually know how long they'll be gone... heh...

I gave both boys a bath last night. I know this sounds like I never bathe them. Well. I don't. hahaha. Isaiah screams bloody murder when he hears the water turn on. I can't handle his screaming and I'm worried the neighbors think I'm beating him or something. Anyway so I got them both in the bath, and Isaiah is screeching and after I'm done washing him he calms down. He PLAYS with TOYS in the BATH. And Adrian is PLAYING WITH HIM!!!!! I took so many pictures of this momentous occasion I think I filled my memory card. Doofus mother I am.

After bath, Adrian wanted chocolate rocks and I told him he didn't finish his dinner (ravioli) so he doesn't get anything. He tells me he wants to eat his ravioli now, so I give it to him (there is only three little ones left, but there is SAUCE on them) he refuses to eat them because there is sauce. So I say oh well. And he starts throwing the table (its a little table) and hits Isaiah with it. So I don't even put him in time out, I put him to bed. He's screaming the whole time "I AM DONE CRYING NOW I AM DONE" but he's crying while screaming. So I go in with Isaiah and we say prayers and sing a song and I put Isaiah down. Adrian is still upset but calmed down. Eventually he falls asleep. At about midnight he comes in to my room, lies down on top of me and says "mama i'm gonna sleep with you now" and we sleep the rest of the night like that. my sweet sweet man. :)

the park!

Last night we went to the park near our house. A quick, fun walk with my little men. Adrian is so fun. We get near the entrance to the park and he says "MOM! It's THIS way! Follow me!" hahaha and he takes off running through the gates.

Michael met us there and when Adrian saw him he came running and gave him a big hug. He looked at me and said "i love you" and i said "I love you too bugga" and he (as he's walking away) looks back at me, exasperated, and says "NO. mom. I love MICHAEL" jerk. hahaha.

After playing on the slides and things for a while, I sat down in the grass with Zayuh and blew bubbles. There are apartments right near the park, and I believe a whole community of Ethiopian families live there. When I started blowing bubbles about 50 kids came running and were jumping around yelling and laughing and popping bubbles and waiting for me to blow more. They were touching my hair (dreds) and smiling at me and being so cute. Isaiah was completely enthralled with so many kids. Just sat and stared and sometimes laughed hysterically when Adrian ran by eating bubbles.

highland games

i seriously cannot believe isaiah is sleeping through the night. every night! from 8 to 7 today! EIGHT TO SEVEN.

and yesterday at the highland games he was sooooo good. sweet little man. everyone loved him. we would go sit in the field amongst the pipers and dancers and drummers and people flocked to him "oh look at his hair! a true scotsman" hahaha silly people. he smiled and played and talked and giggled and was soo good. he didn't nap once and we were there for 7 hours. and he was SOO GOOD. i'm amazed. helen's niece, elizabeth took him and wandered him around and rolled in the grass with him. he shared a banger with me. he had some lemonade for the first time!

he fell asleep on the way home, but duh! and he was still really tired when we got here, so i just fed him and put him down and he slept all the way through. :D

he didn't get burned but i did. haha.

this morning i brought him to bed with me, as usual when he woke up. i gave him a breakfast biscuit and he lay back on my down comforter with one arm above his head, completely relaxed, munching on his biscuit. i took a picture but for some reason i can't figure out how to post pictures in here!!!!!!!!!!!

thats how zayuh sounds. hahaha. he's so cute. his hair is getting looong. i still dont want to cut it. people are going to start thinking he's a girl. but its so beautiful... i can't cut it.

he still crawls with one leg up and one leg down. and gets grumpy if i sit down and make him come to me. whiner baby.

he is now sleeping through the night every night. yes he wakes up at 5 and wants a boob. but he'll make it. i'm now getting at least 6 straight hours of sleep. its a fucking miracle.

not an update. a startdate?

adrian is 3 and a half. he is so smart. so fucking smart. conversations i never thought i'd have with a little kid. he can read small words like go and car. he loves to sing and swim and dance. he hates having a mohawk because i always want to put it up, and he wants it down. he is about 30 pounds still. my sweet man.


isaiah is 10 months old. he says mama, dada, up, uh oh. his red red hair is getting long. he sleeps most of the way through the night now. and he is in adrian's room. its lovely being a good mom.
